GDRNT supporters are the BEST!

Sara Craven, one of our founding board members and long-time volunteer sold the winning raffle ticket for the 50" flat screen TV this year to someone at JCPenney's corporate office in Construction Services.

Sara was able to sell $500 worth of tickets and one of those purchasers gives her a $50 bill every year for the raffle and buys a dozen tickets.

We called Sara and told her the name and it turns out, it was the $50 co-worker.

She e-mailed this person to let them know and after a few hours got a response back that they were thrilled to win, but they would like GDRNT to keep the TV to use for a future fundraiser, as they figured GDRNT needed the money more then they needed a 50" TV. This person does not currently own a dog, but loves dogs and in the past had a mutt that lived to be 17 years old! This person also asked to remain completely anonymous.

So, as a gesture, we will be naming the next male rescued Dane after this person's beloved dog, in their honor. So, COOPIE....thank you, your love of your owner has helped MANY Danes through your human companion's generous act.

After some discussion GDRNT's Board of Directors went with a sugestion they were given...........
